A Night of French Culture

Mademoiselle Corkery’s AP French class had the unique opportunity to have an entire night filled with French culture.

The night began with dinner at La Crêperie, where “Paris meets Providence,” and each student had the choice of their own savory and sweet crêpe. The crêperie was highly recommended among the students.

Afterwards, the class traveled to Wheaton College to see a dazzling performance called “Jacques Brel ou l’impossible rêve,” featuring songs by the late French singer Jacques Brel. The NDA students had familiarized themselves by listening to songs by Brel prior to the concert. The performance brought the interesting life of Jacques Brel to life and enabled the audience to understand how his life impacted the subject of his songs. The students all agreed that the theatrical interpretation was both culturally enriching and a great opportunity to immerse themselves in the French language.

A special thank you to Ms. Corkery and Mrs. Holland for making the night possible!
