This year’s Lenten Campaign is off to a great start. The collection jars in our homerooms are filling up fast, and for a wonderful cause! The money collected will help provide bikes and nourishment to children in Peru. The bikes will be their transportation to school; many children stop attending school due to the lack of easy accessibility. We can help eliminate this hardship!

I witnessed this first hand during my two week service trip to Via El Salvador,   Peru. I spent two weeks directly involved in the community. There was no running water or electricity. One of my duties was teaching Spanish in a preschool. The staff told me that this is usually the last level of schooling the children get because it is too difficult and too expensive for their families to send them into town for the next level of education. This is a cause that I am very passionate about! I have included some of my photos from my time in Via El Salvador. Sometimes it is hard to picture the final result of your donations, but remember you CAN make a difference!
