Reinventing Yourself

As another year has passed and a brand new year is on the horizon, we contemplate innovative, fresh new ways to reinvent ourselves. Thankfully, it is never too late to revolutionize who we are, how we think, or what our goals may be. It is healthy to reevaluate ourselves, whether by choosing a new path in life or accepting the reality that “I like who I am already.” Whatever your resolution for 2015 may be, being positive and spiritual renewal can be invaluable in molding who we are as ever-changing individuals. When we think of New Year’s resolutions, we often focus on altering our exterior body image, while perhaps we should focus on our interior and who we are as individuals. Ending our day by successfully saying, “I had a positive day today and did not bring negative energy to another” can be a gratifying feeling. Although this can be a difficult task depending on whom we come into contact with and how their day is going, this type of day is achievable and can lend itself to creating a more positive environment. Take time to think about who you are and where you are going; do not let others’ ideas of you define who you are.

Being a good listener and contemplating another’s thoughts is one way to bring positive energy to someone else. By listening instead of keeping the dialogue one-sided, we can interject our comments in an inspirational way, eventually lifting that person’s spirit. Our soul is the miraculous foundation of who we are. By sharing it we show others that we have invested in them and their interests.

As we grow older we become conscious of how many life lessons have crossed our paths. We are able to look back and pull from our past, and numerous incidents that have molded us into the individuals we are today. Many individuals have been let into our hearts and we become disappointed when our dedication toward them is abused. However, these life lessons are genuine, leaving their footprints on our subconscious minds, prompting us to become more cautious and less vulnerable. It is necessary at times to tear down the walls we use to protect ourselves allowing others to see us in a vulnerable state, hoping they will respond positively. We can keep our natural energy intact by refraining from altering who we are with each individual we come into contact with and not compromising our integrity. By trusting our inner compass, being who we are and surrounding ourselves with positive people, we will find the reward to be profound.

Every person we come into contact with leaves us with their energy, whether it is positive or negative, but how we interpret these life lessons is up to us. The old adage if you are kind to others they will be kind to you isn’t as obvious as it once was. If you smile or say “hello” to someone you look for him or her to respond with kindness and although this may not happen at first, eventually someone will send a smile your way and you will pay it forward to another. If we create a positive aura around us, eventually positive energy will return to us. Surround yourself with relationships that will inspire you, bringing positivity into your life. Keep and create relationships with others who are generally interested in your well being, reveling in your successes while supporting you when you fall. There will be good and not so good days but by cementing our optimistic views, the payoff in the end can be substantial. We each have the opportunity to change someone else’s day; be deliberate in directing your positive energy. Engaging others with optimism can only bring about an atmosphere that is harmonious and spiritually sound, which allows us to grow as individuals.

Relating to each other on a human level is what really matters, and not our social footprint. Let us not become distracted this new year from what we should be focusing on, connecting to one another in an optimistic, spiritual way while paying it forward with positive energy.

 Quote of the day;

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
