Scoop on StuCo-November/December

Wow, it is hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner! While it seems that these past few months have been a blur of sports, academics, and college stress for seniors, the Student Council has kept us all connected with new and exciting school wide events. This year, the Council began the Door Decorating Contest. In this event, all of the students decorated the doors of their respective homerooms on Halloween morning, and one homeroom from each grade was selected as winners. Each winning homeroom was rewarded with munchkins! Days later, the Student Council hosted the Cotillion at Lombardo’s, which is a dance for the junior and senior classes. While Makenzie Lanagan ’16 thought that the best part of the night was dancing, Sarah Fay ’16 loved having the opportunity to meet so many new people. Overall, it was a wonderful night!

This year, the Council has decided to partner with the Advancement Office for Giving Tuesday. The idea behind the Council’s participation in Giving Tuesday is to collect as much food as possible for a local parish. The goal is to collect 600 items as well as 600 donations. Each homeroom has been assigned a particular food to bring in, but all non-perishables are welcomed! Collection will continue until December 2. See how we did!

Thank you to the Council and all faculty members for a fantastic fall!
