Pink, pink, and more pink. Saying the NDA gym was decorated in pink would be the understatement of the school year. The volleyball program covered the gym from top to bottom in pink decorations and posters on Friday the 24th to get ready for the Dig Pink game. This game, is more than an excuse to decorate the gym. It has a good cause, to raise money for breast cancer research.  The volleyball program has proudly hosted the Dig Pink game every year, for the past five years.

NDA played Canton High School in a well matched game. Both teams entered the gym undefeated, and after a handful of competitive games NDA came out victorious. The girls were challenged at the start of the highly anticipated match, giving up the first game to Canton 25-16. The Notre Dame girls came out for the next game, motivated and determined to win. The Cougars won the second game 25-19, and the third game 25-18. In the final nail-biting game, the Cougars kept their prestigious undefeated record, winning 25-22. This makes the Cougars 15-0 for the season!

The Cougars were delighted to continue their winning streak, but this game took on a unique meaning.  The volleyball program looks forward to the Dig Pink game every year, and is honored to have the opportunity to raise money for breast cancer research. The idea of raising money for a worthy cause adds an extra level of motivation and determination to the team’s spirit. The NDA volleyball team hopes to harness this energy and carry it with them as they continue onto the State Tournament.
