Junior Retreat 2016

Junior+Retreat+2016

On November 30th the class of 2018 traveled to St. Mary’s Parish in Scituate for their Junior Retreat. The theme of this retreat was relationships. This was the best retreat that I had ever experienced so far during my time here at NDA. I think it had something to do with the fact that we have a really good class where, everybody is friends with each other.

The day started playing a few games and then we got into our small groups based on different eras. After playing some games with our small groups it was time for some witness talks. Witness talks are speeches by some of the retreat leaders who are a part of the senior class. Before the witness talks happened we were told that what’s said at the retreat stays on the retreat. This is so that the girls who are giving the talks feel comfortable knowing that the information that they say will not be shared anywhere else. These talks were very inspiring. My favorite part of the day was the affirmation board activity. During this activity all the girls had a poster on their back and classmates got to write inspiring notes on them. It was a chance to tell our classmates how much we appreciate them and what we admire about them. The day ended with everybody saying an intention and then lighting a candle. Once everyone had said their intention the dark room was lit up with all the candles.

This was by far one of the best retreats that I have ever been on!
