Fall Sports Recap

Fall Sports Recap

Congratulations to all NDA athletes on completing another season of sports! Our fall teams finished their seasons with some impressive records. Keep reading to see a recap of the final results.

Volleyball: In typical NDA Volleyball style, the team made it all the way to the State Finals this year! They crushed Old Rochester, Hingham, Dennis Yarmouth, Greater New Bedford (all 3-0) during the Sectional Finals, and beat Bishop Fenwick 3-2 to win State Semifinals. Unfortunately at States, the team lost a hard-fought match to Hopkinson (0-3). Their overall record ended as 22-2, including tournament scores.

Field Hockey: Once again, field hockey made it to tournament, beating Plymouth South in the D1 Tournament Preliminary game (3-0). The Cougars then suffered a loss to Somerset-Berkley in the first round (1-2), ending their season off with a record of 12-7-1.

Soccer: The Cougars had a great regular season with a record of 11-4-2, including a seven-game winning streak! The team made it to tournament but unfortunately were knocked out of the running early, losing to Foxborough in the 1st round of the D2 South Sectional Tournament with a score of 1-2.

Cheerleading: The cheerleading team had another awesome fall season cheering at the BC High boys’ football games!

Cross Country: After a successful regular season, XC beat tough competition Ursuline Academy by three points at the CCLeague Championship, the final score being Varsity NDA 23, Ursuline 26, Fontbonne 83. The team advanced to the Eastern MA D3 Sectional meet, where the Cougars placed 7th. Maeve Williams qualified for States, where she placed 48th at Gardener Golf Course!

Swim and Dive: The Cougars’ overall record, including tournament scores, was 5-7. NDA hosted (and won!) the Catholic Conference Championship with a final score of 223 points, beating Ursuline Academy’s 190. The team placed 4th at both South Sectionals and the D2 State Meet!

Dance: NDA Dance made it all the way to States this year! Earlier in their season the Cougars competed at the Reggie Lewis Center, placing 2nd in the NE Championships. This allowed them to advance to the MSSAA State Competition, where the team placed 5th.

Congratulations to all fall sport athletes!
