Close-Up 2016

Close-Up+2016

Many Juniors and Seniors this past November got to go to Washington D.C. to be a part of  Close-Up. It was an exciting time to be in our nation’s capital as it was the week of the 2016 Presidential Election. Some students have reflected on their time in Washington D.C. and taking part in this amazing program.

“Election week at Close Up was one of the best weeks of my life. I made life-long friends from all over the country: some from California, others from Texas, and even a few from Massachusetts. I learned so much about politics and this year’s election while making lasting memories with my friends, while exploring D.C.”

“It was very educational to be surrounded by people from different backgrounds who shared contrasting views. It was also nice to have a change of scenery and learn outside the classroom. The debates were helpful because they  informed on topics that I otherwise would not have learned about or even known that they existed. Close-Up taught me about problems in the US that I was not even aware of.”
