This month’s Style Section will wrap up my three-part series on style for spring/summer 2016. From dress, makeup and finally fantastic hair deemed style worthy by notable fashionistas for spring and summer. Spring is a great time to change things up a bit; new cut, new color, maybe some highlights? Let’s talk about the many current hairstyles that are considered fashion forward, elevating you with a whole new look!

One of the two top cuts for spring includes bangs. Any length goes “from baby bangs to cheekbone-grazing fringe to curly face-framers” according to Refinery.com. Another crowd pleaser is “short, choppy cuts” in either a bob or wild shag. The bob seems to never go out of style and is a great look with every face shape and hair texture. For straight to wavy hair be sure to ask your stylist for a classic bob with soft cut layers, or longer layers and medium length bangs. Stylists suggest to keep your choppy style fresh have your bob trimmed every two months. Another choice by hairstylist Shai Amiel is a “square shag with short bangs”.

This trendy look is created by adding “extra short pieces on the crown to maximize volume and the feel of randomness…then…short bangs for added drama”. Dry your new style by flipping your head over and, if you have curly hair, scrunching your curls as you dry then flip back and scrunch the rest. Amiel also believes “that all curly hair should be cut every 100 days” to maintain it’s fabulous style and eliminate split ends. Another great style that remains popular is “a long, textured cut with side-swept bangs”. This look is described as “a foxy, long, layered texture haircut with a sassy fringe”.

The “long, layered, shaggy cut with long, messy bangs” is a great wash and go style. Rough drying, no brush, will bring out your natural texture and keep this style fresh and wispy. When getting your cut be sure to ask your stylist for layers that suits your hairs natural texture. Take care not to cut your layers too short if your hair is curly. You do not want it to curl up into something other than what you were intending! To see more great styles watch the slideshow on Refinery.com, which can be viewed here http://www.refinery29.com/la-hair-stylist-spring-trends-2016#slide. Most stylist welcome photos of your desired cut, which will keep you both on the same page.
